If you’re a member of the veteran community and you require physiotherapy services, contact us today here at ProMovement. We have an agreement to treat DVA cardholders through special payment arrangements. You can enquire here about the services we offer and what the DVA will pay for on your behalf.
Do you need to pay for DVA physiotherapy?
You don’t have to pay us. Instead, we’ll directly bill the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and they’ll be the ones to pay on your behalf, which is why it will be straightforward and convenient for you.
If you have an assessed clinical need and you have a Veteran Gold Card or a Veteran White Card (and your treatment is for an accepted service-related condition), you might be able to receive physiotherapy services for free (the DVA might fully pay for it, depending on the restrictions and conditions).
What physiotherapy services can you receive?
The services might include some or many of the following:
- Therapeutic exercises
- Joint mobilisation
- Dry needling
- Soft tissue massage
- Other physiotherapy programs to help you experience pain relief and improve your range of motion
For you to access those services, you will need a referral for physiotherapy from your doctor, a GP, medical specialist or hospital discharge planner. Then, the physiotherapist will confirm your eligibility and assess your clinical needs. The physiotherapist will also discuss the treatment plan for you so that you’ll know the service coverage and timeline (e.g. how long the sessions will last, what outcomes to expect and how long before you experience significant improvement and pain relief).
The overall goal is to help improve your quality of life. With the DVA’s support and professional services from a qualified physiotherapist, you might be able to get through each day much easier and restore many of your physical functions. This can also help you become more independent in your daily activities and maintain your physical fitness for several years ahead.
